Valentine Day Kick-Off Party

The other day, I was browsing through some blogs to get ideas for Valentine's day. Well, as I was looking around, I got in the Valentine day spirit! So, in the afternoon, I decided to do some heart activities with Lex to kick-off this lovely holiday! First, I just cut a heart out of red construction paper, and then Lex took some pink tissue paper, ripped it into pieces, and then glued them on the heart. Then, Lex used some glitter to add sparkles to her heart. She loved this heart. It is hanging up in our house, and when Chris got home the day we made this, she said to him, "Daddy, I made this heart for you because I love you!" I love moments like those.

She loves to glue everything and anything these days
Squeezing the glitter glue was pretty hard for Lex, see how hard she is concentrating. It was a challenge for sure, which is a good thing.
The finished product.

After completing the heart valentine, it was time for lunch. So, Lex made some English muffin heart pizzas. We make pizza a lot it seems, for Lexi loves to make it and eat it, yum! What I loved about this pizza this time, was that we used a whole wheat english muffin that contained 8 grams of fiber, fat-free mozarella cheese, homemade, low-sugar, low-sodium, low-fat marinara sauce, and turkey pepperonis. And, wouldn't you know, Lexi loved it, she didn't even know this pizza was good for her, and that makes me happy! Anyways, I digress, Lexi loves to cook with me, and she is a pro now when it comes to making pizza. She grabs her apron and her stool all by herself and helps out, just like a real chef. I am a proud mama!
Putting on the sauce

Spreading the sauce
Throwing on the cheese

Placing the heart-shaped pepperoni (She even helped me cut out the pepperonis)

Look how cute!
Ready for the oven, Mom!
After being baked, yum-mo!
She first ate off all the cheese and then ate everything else. Why she always does this with pizza is beyond me, but she sure loves her cheese
One happy, proud, chef-in-training (This was her FIRST time eating an english muffin pizza, though)
