Fourth of July in Payson

I have to say, this was one of Chris and I's best fourth of July celebrations ever! We decided to go up North to Payson. It was perfect. Besides a few raindrops here and there, the weather was perfect. The small town did games for the whole family, had bouncy houses, live music, and one of the best firework shows we have seen. Aaron, Maralyn and Rhett joined us up there for the day, they had to leave before fireworks. It was fun to spend time with this wonderful family. I hope all of you had a wonderful fourth as well.

Before leaving, we had a wonderful pancake breakfast. Chris and my pancakes were complete with blueberries and whipped cream, but my berry hating girls just stuck with good ole syrup. Either way, it was a delicious way to start the fourth.

Bouncy castle is what Lexi started the games with

loves this!

Then she did the slide!

Following the bouncy things, was rolling down the hill. Lots of kids were doing it and so Lexi just wanted to join. She actually got really good, we took a really good video, but here is a still shot of her reaching the bottom of the hill.

Christine, on the other hand, just liked rolling the water bottle down the hill and chasing after it.

The organized games started with the three legged race. This was Lexi's first time for this race, to my knowledge.

Her partner was the blonde girl wearing the green sweatshirt. They did pretty good.

Waiting with the umbrella until her age bracket was called again

Aaron and Chris did the water balloon toss (Chris is on the left side in the red shirt, and Aaron is on the right side looking down.

Daddy helped Christine get started on the foot race for the baby bracket.

The games ended with tug of war. Lexi, Chris, and Aaron participated in this.

At one point Christine ran over to Daddy, but quickly ran back to me when they started pulling.

After games, we went and got some burgers at a local joint that was delicous! We also played at the park. This was the girls resting before the firework show began.

We still had about 1 hour left until fireworks, so ice cream kept them entertained for most of the time.

Mommy got kettle corn, which was shared by all. Then the firework show over the lake began. The perfect ending to a perfect day. And, for all my MI friends, see, parts of AZ are green :)
