Today we took Alexis to see the Easter Bunny. We dressed her up in this cute outfit her Grandma Farrelly got her, did her hair all nice, and went with the hope of getting a cute picture. Well...she wasn't too happy about having to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap, her expression resembles that of when she sat on Santa's lap, so the pic isn't the best, but it will have to do. She did get a small bottle of bubbles on her way out, so she did tell the Easter bunny "bye" at that point. Oh well, at least she didn't cry. Maybe next year, she will like seeing the Easter Bunny.

Our Trip to the Detroit Zoo: March 2010
On Friday, me and two of my friends took our girls to the zoo. The weather was perfect, 65 degrees! While I was there, I bought our family a year membership so we can go back since Lexi had so much fun! We saw just about everything, had a picnic lunch, and enjoyed the company of our friends.
Lexi's favorite exhibits:
1. Butterfly house
2. Polar bear/Sea Lion walk thru
3. Horse
Really, she enjoyed all the animals, but those three things got the most reaction, so I am documenting it as her favs.
Anyways, it was fun for us to get out of the house, and I got some exercise too, which is great! I can't wait to go back!
Chili Cook Off 2010
We attended our ward's annual chili cook off. We had a good time. The YW painted the kid's faces. Lexi got a heart and her friend Whitney got a flower. The girls LOVED them. In fact, when we got home that night, I took Lexi too wash the heart off so we could get ready for bed and while I was washing it off, Lexi was crying and saying, "Bye Heart!" It was so sad :(
The YM made the kids balloon animals. Lexi got a pink dog. She LOVES balloons and so of course she loved this!
Lexi also got to do a "cupcake" walk. She won on the first round, and instead of winning a cupcake, she won a sucker.
All the chilies and salads were amazing and there were so many cupcakes for dessert that I think I tried about all of them. We left full and happy!

Chris's 27th Birthday
On St. Patty's Day, Chris turned 27! Unfortunately, he had to go to school all day, but when he got come, we had a good time. He wanted pizza and cheesecake for his birthday, surprise, surprise. That is exactly what he asked for last year, but I guess the man knows what he likes! I do not enjoy making pizza, so we ordered some from Pizza Hut! We got wings too, very good! Then, I made him a cheesecake with raspberry sauce, his special request. I kind of messed up on the cheesecake this year, but it really only affected the appearance, the top got a little too brown, it still tasted great! Chris loves raspberries and so he loved the sauce, so that made me happy.
He also opened his birthday presents. Lexi and I got him a new pair of jeans, he badly needed them, and new dress shirt for church, also needed. Luckily, they each fit.
then, he got lots and lots of gift cards from my parents and his parents. I am happy too, because being married to the birthday boy, I also benefit from gift cards to restaurants and movie theatres, etc. Gift cards really are the best gifts for Chris, he loved them all. His parents also got him tradtional St. Patty's stuff and a wallet.
The gift he loved the most this year, though, and I can say this because he told me so, was all the phone calls from family he received. When he got home from school, he had seven voicemails all from family. It made him so happy. He got to talk to my parents and siblings, and all of his siblings and parents. This was the first year that has happened and he loved it. He and I have really been missing family lately, (this always happens during finals) and it made his day to know that everyone he truly loves remembered him on his special day.
Lexi and I also made him shamrocks with different sayings on them like Happy Birthday, We love you, etc. lexi helped put the stickers on, colored them, and she hung them on the wall all by herself. She was so excited to show him when he got home.
I know he had a good day, even if it was very low key. It amazes me how each year seems to get shorter and shorter or time seems to go faster and faster, however you want to put it. I am just grateful for each day and know it is a blessing from God.

Our 4th Wedding Anniversary
Yesterday, Chris and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful day. Even the weather was nice to us! Chris had to work all day, but when he got home and the sitter arrived we had a wonderful night out on the town!
But first, let me just say, Chris surprised me this year with some really great gifts! He has never been a gift giver, but this year he really did a great job. I loved the gifts partly because they were so thoughtful! It started out with a surprise knock at the door. I answered it and Chris had ordered me sunflowers, they are my favorite! Now, last year he did the same thing, so I thought that was my only gift and was quite content with it.
However, when he got home from work he surprised me with MORE gifts. First he got me a body pillow and cover! This is fantastic! I have been having trouble sleeping lately, due to a growing belly, and I missed the body pillow I used in AZ, which we did not bring to MI. So, he got me my own!
THEN, he got me a box of thin mints, girl scout cookies! These are my favorite and I adore girl scout cookies, but Chris thinks they are too expensive and so he did not want me getting any this year, so the fact that he bought me my own box, was so sweet.
THEN, he rented a movie I have been wanting to see forever, The Time Traveler's Wife. We have not seen it yet because chris said it looked stupid and didn't want to "waste" money on it. Well, we watched it last night after dinner and wouldn't you know, He liked it more than I did!
I was so impressed with his gift giving this year!
Okay, so after gifts, we went out on a DATE to what is now my new favorite Italian restaurant, Maggiano's Little Italy. We went all out on the food, and with two gift cards, and a 10 dollar off coupon, our huge meal was practically FREE! That just made it taste all the more better! Here is what was on the menu for us last night
Drinks:
Chris: Refills and Refills of Root Beer
Me: Raspberry Lemonade
Appetizers:
Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes
These were amazing!!!!! And, they were only 12 dollars for two crab cakes! See what I mean about how great gift cards are!
Salad:
Maggiano's Italian Salad
I don't know how they make their signature dressing, but I could have drunk it in a cup, it was heaven on a salad!
main Course:
Chris: Lobster Fettuccini
Heidi: Baked Ziti with Sausage
Both were excellent and more food than we could eat! So, we had a yummy lunch today!
Dessert:
Warm Apple Crostada
When I took the first bite, I had died and gone to heaven. It was like apple pie with ice cream and caramel sauce on top, but it was even better than pie! Loved it!
The restaurant was really amazing, I hope we can go back sometime.
It was so nice to have some alone time with Chris. I miss dating without kids, and this was just what I needed to recharge my batteries!
I am so glad to be married and I am glad that I have a happy wonderful marriage even 4 years later! I think I love Chris even more now than when I said, I do! I look forward to the many more anniversaries ahead as well.
