Pre-K has begun!

Last week was Lexi's first week of Pre-K! So far, she LOVES school again, which I am grateful for. She got a backpack this year, which she loves. I just know it is going to be a great school year!

We had to run to my mom's house before school on the first day to take these pics because our camera is  broken :(. But I am glad we could borrow her camera to capture the first day of school.

Awesome backpack with folder

I love this girl!

Not only is she cute, but she is smart, so her teachers naturally already love her :)

Olympic Playgroup

Because I love the Olympics, like I mentioned before, I hosted an Olympic cousin playgroup! I think it was the best playgroup I have hosted to date. Everyone had a blast, it cost me nearly nothing, and it was a fabulous way to get the kids to exercise, which is also important to me. Great time!

We started off by very briefly showing the world map and showing the kids that the USA is in North America. Then, we talked about how the games start by lighting the ring of fire. Then, every kids got a flag and their own torch and we marched to the kitchen so that we could light the ring of fire.

GO USA! GO USA!

All lit! Let the games begin!

Game #1: Baseball waterballoon toss (probably the most liked game)

Game  #2: Track and Field Water Relay. Their were holes in the bottom of the cup so the kids had to run as fast as they could to the fill the buckets up.

Lexi I think had the most fun doing this!

awesome shot!

Game #3: Gymnastics balance beam

Game  #4: Soccer Kick

The goals were two laundry baskets :)

Speaking of which, here are the goals

Game #5: Long Jump

Game #6: Somersalt Contest

After the games, we handed out gold medals, and the kids listened to the national anthem being played. Surprisingly, they loved listening to the song and they were so quiet during it.

Then, they had a snack. The gold medal was cookies wrapped in gold foil, so they got to open their medal and eat them. We also had cheesy popcorn, watermelon stars, grapes, and homemade icee drinks.

After snack, the kids just wanted to get wet in the kiddie pool, so we let them have at it!

Great way to end the summer!

We Love the Olympics!

I love the olympics! I love everything about it! So, I naturally want my kids to love it too! One day, the kids and I made the olympic flag using paint, plastic cups and white paper. We dipped the rim of the cup in the paint to make the circles. My kids loved this art project, and it turned out really cute. And, I learned something doing this along with my kids. I learned that the five rings represent the five continents represented in the olympics. Cool right? I thought so, but that is the nerd in me, I guess. Anyways, fun activity for a fun event!

We tried to get Christine to display her pic but she had more fun playing with it, still cute though

see what I mean?

best one!

Go USA!

Yeah!

Christine's 2nd Birthday Part 2

In the evening, both sides of the family came over to my parents' home for presents and cake/ice cream. It was a really fun ending to a great day!

While waiting for everyone to arrive, I set up the fish game again and when I went to check on the girlies this is what I saw. I love LOVE this pic of Lexi so I had to share.

Christine loves all of her cousins, but she especially loves Rhett! She loves trying to make him laugh.

So, here is the birthday girl spinning. She loves to twirl and dance. Quite cute.

This is also a really good shot at the fish outfit Maralyn and I made for her. The whole thing turned out really cute, if I can say so without sounding cocky.

beautiful birthday girl

this is a good shot of the bow that my mom and I made for her. She was decked out in colorful fish fabric, that is for sure!

Chris always wonders why I buy balloons. This is why, kids love them! I love this pic of Rhett trying to get the balloon.

Anyways, after everyone arrived we opened presents. She got some good stuff.

I just love this pic. She just needed a break from opening all of the gifts I guess.

I think she is the only kid on the planet who got so excited when she opened clothes. She is definitely our girly girl.

Cousin Adee is so cute!

After all the presents were opened she went around the room and gave everyone a hug to show her thanks.

After presents, it was time to sing to the birthday girl and eat cake/ice cream. Daddy did a great job lighting the candles

Christine was memorized by him blowing out the match

Happy Birthday cutie!

Listening to the song...

she blew them out like a pro.

so happy!

I think I can say that she had a wonderful 2nd birthday! Thank you to all who came and thank you to Grandma and Grandpa King for thinking of her through e-cards and a card sent through the mail. We love you!
