This Girl Loves to Dance

We were so fortunate last year to meet a special lady named Jesika Harmon. She was in our ward and has kids very close in age to my kids. Last Fall, she was an answer to one of my prayers. To back up, over the summer we had Lexi enrolled in a princess summer dance camp. it was one hour of crafts and one hour of dance. I needed something for her to do over the summer, if you know what I mean. She needed SOMETHING. So, this is what I chose because she had been begging me to take dance. I honestly thought she would hate the dance part and love the craft part. Well, she loved it all, dang you Dance Barn for being so awesome :) anyhow when it was over she kept asking me when she could take dance again. Financially, it wasn't possible to keep her enrolled and I felt so bad because she loved it so much. But, I prayed that we would be able to find some extra curricular activity that we could afford. Well, then I meet Jesika. We worked together in the primary. She was teaching dance at a studio and was looking for someone to watch her little boy, McKay during the class. She told me she felt that she should ask me to do it and her proposition was that I would watch McKay in exchange for Lex getting to be in her class and having a semester of FREE dance! This tiny miracle made it possible for Lex to be in dance class again. It was also neat for Christine because she had a playmate once a week while Lex was gone. Anyways, this sweet experience really taught me that even small wishes of my heart are heard by my Heavenly Father and he provides a way to help us. Here are some pics from Lexi's recital at the end of it all. Great experience all the way around!

Thank you Aunt Autumn for doing her hair and makeup

She did an awesome job with her part and it was so fun to see 3 and 4 year olds dancing up on the stage.

Getting in the Holiday Spirit

Okay, I think I caught up on November from 2012. Now, onto December. What a busy month this was last year! I love doing crafts with the kids, if you don't know already, and I think these  foot reindeer are one of my favorites. Doing these sort of things early in the month really help me get in the holiday spirit.

Glendale Glitters

Aaron's Christmas Light Company that he works for helps with a huge event called, Glendale Glitters. It happens after Thanksgiving every year. Last year, we went to see the lights all light up! It was so fun! They have a little program where local dance groups perform and local singers too and then they have a countdown that leads to the whole square being lit up! It was quite magical and pretty to see all the lights turn on at once. Then, there is carnival like food and events that you can enjoy after. Since we went with my parents, they paid to have Lexi ride the pony ride. She still loves horses and wants to ride one whenever she can.

Post Thanksgiving Zoo Trip

Last year for Thanksgiving, a lot of my husband's relatives from out of town came and joined our Glidewell side of the fam feast. Chris's aunt has twin girls who are really close in age to Lex. So, she enjoyed having them and we enjoyed seeing them all. After Thanksgiving, they all took a zoo trip. I didn't go and I don't remember exactly why, but being pregnant probably had something to do with it, but they all had a good time. Here are some pics!
Lex and her uncle Ian.

On the train ride with the girls, LOVE Christine's face in this one, and in the back you can see Aunt Hallie with part of G. Glidewell and cousin Noah's back of the head.

Thanksgiving 2012

Because I refused to buy added storage for this here blog, I have not blogged in about one year. But, thanks to my mom, she gave me the funds to turn my first year of blogging into a memory book so I was able to delete the year of 2008 and thus creating more memory!  So...I am going to be posting pictures from last year and to the best of my ability in order to play catch up! So bare with me!

Even though I tried to oppose this extended family photo taken on Thanksgiving, because I was about 9 months pregnant with Corbin, I didn't win. So here it is!

Two of the best Grandparents EVER.

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot
I was very pregnant with Corbin last year, so I did not run in the Turkey Trot :( But, a lot of my extended family did, including Lexi (which was her first race ever), so I got to go and cheer everybody on, and Christine helped me cheer! So fun!

She ran the whole way and actually did very well!

Chris ran with Lexi's cousin, Brady, because his mom was running the 10K!

The runners! I love this tradition so much! It somehow helps me justify eating so much more food on Thanksgiving knowing I ran earlier in the day, even though last year I played the pregnant card instead :)

Parent Program #2: Oceans

Lexi's preschool held another parent program, this time, on their ocean unit they have been studying. These programs are so cute. The kids sing songs, like at this one, the kids sang a song naming all of the oceans and continents. Really cute! Then, each kid is asked a question and they respond. Lexi was the first one to be asked this time and she knew the answer even before the question was finished being asked! I love how confident and brave she is speaking in front of people at this young age. Anyways, I am grateful for Lexi to have this opportunity before she starts Kinder next year.
