Pretend Play

Lexi is so good at using her imagination and playing pretend. And, she is good at including Christine in her play now. Most of the day, Lexi or Christine transform into some sort of an animal. My girls love animals, I mean, LOVE animals. On this particular day, I was making dinner, Chris was getting home from work, and Lexi was taking her dog, Kya, on a walk. Chris does not get to see this play as often as I do, so he thought it was so funny he took a picture. And, now, I am glad he did, because it is pretty funny and cute. They were walking to the park (Lexi and Christine's room). I love watching these girls play and have fun. It is a great thing.

why "Kya the dog" has sunglasses on is beyond me, but it sure adds to the charm :)

Rainbow Activities to beat Summer Boredom

I have been trying to do some preschool-ish type things with the girls this summer so that they do not get too bored, and let's face it, there is only so much swimming that can happen in one day too! This day, was our rainbow day. We spent the morning mixing colors together to form a rainbow, followed by rainbow coloring, and then the grand finale was a rainbow snack. Both girls actually liked this more than I thought they would. It was fun!

we made fun colored star ice cubes using red, yellow, and blue. And then we mixed some together to form all the colors of the rainbow. Fun!

Beautiful!

Lexi loved our "magical experiment" as she put it

we put all the colors of the rainbow crayons together and drew and arch. Then, they glued cotton ball clouds to the bottom. Big hit even with Christine.

Lexi creations was entirely her own.

Then, they made their rainbow fruit salads by mixing the different colored fruits together. Let me just say, Lexi tried every single fruit, even blueberries, which blew me away. Yes!

caught off guard :)
mandarine oranges were her favorite!

Princess Summer Camp

Lexi is doing a princess summer camp during the month of June this summer. She loves, LOVES it! They do an hour of dance, (tap and ballet), and then one hour of themed activities. Here is a mask she made on one of the days that she just had to have a picture of. It makes me smile so I thought it would make you smile too!

Prescott Zoo

Over a three day weekend, we went with Chris's brother and his family up to Prescott for a little day trip. We had a blast! The highlight for the kids was the zoo. This zoo was up close and personal. The animals were so close! It was great. The kids even got to watch the black bear get fed salmon and fruit. It was exciting. We also had a great lunch at a local cafe and we followed lunch with homemade cheesecake from the same place. Day trips are the best!

My Preschool Grad

In May, Lexi graduated from her first year in preschool. She loved every minute of it, including her friends and teacher. It was neat for me to see her grow and develop over the year. She matured so much and is so smart. I just love this girl to pieces and am so glad that her first school experience was a positive one.
